The present accounting firm of Lawson Magnusson Chase began in August 1971 in Campbell River, Vancouver Island, BC when accountant Robert D. Crane acquired the sole proprietorship accounting practice from Mr. Dennis Hatch. Growth in the practice resulted in Raeburn J. Lawson joining the firm in October 1976 and Shari Magnusson, Chartered Accountant, in February 1983. Derek Chase, Chartered Accountant, Trustee in Bankruptcy, CIRP, joined the firm in January 1993 and became a partner in 1995. Upon Mr. Crane's retirement the firm now practices as Lawson Magnusson Chase. Mr. Lawson has also recently retired, effective May 2005. Both Mr. Crane and Mr. Lawson continue to reside in the Courtenay / Campbell River area of Vancouver Island.
The partners at our LMC Chartered Accountants firm are very much hands-on; large files are not delegated exclusively to staff. We also utilize a one tier review system, which means that a second person will check each file. This has produced exceptional quality control while preventing too many people from handling a file.
We have made a commitment to provide clients with accounting, bankruptcy and insolvency services on a timely basis. When a client provides all the information needed to complete a file, we will be able to give them an expected completion date. Should unforeseen difficulties occur, we would advise the client immediately. In addition, all partners are available for your enquiries should your preferred partner be out of the office.
